New York Governor George Pataki and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg: 

We the undersigned call on you to intervene in the proposed demolition of P.S. 109 in Manhattan, built in 1899, located at 225 East 99th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues. The school has been added to the National and New York State Registers of Historic Places.

We feel it is crucial to preserve the handful of historic buildings remaining in the city.

The school should be stabilized and restored, in order that it can be used in the future as a school.

We appreciate your attention to this matter.
